A Georgetown Winter Wonderland
We have had such a great year so far! So many fun and absolutely beautiful weddings and events to share with you!
This one was a little crazy with the weather, but an adventure for sure - and a night Torie & Scott will never forget!!
Remember that crazy weekend in February where it snowed and iced ALL day and there were hundreds of accidents and power outages!? Well, that was the Saturday of this wedding. Luckily, most guests were staying a couple blocks from Sequoia so they could walk to and from (very carefully, I might add, since the sidewalks were also a sheet of ice!).
It was one of those days where you thought nothing else could go wrong, then the officiant called out and said he couldn't make it & the brass ensemble was stuck on the side of 270 not looking like they would make it either. We can deal with those & we did.
What added to the fun was when a pipe burst in the office above the venue, causing the kitchen to flood & the fire alarms started going off. Luckily, we were able to somewhat mask the sound with the amazing beats of DJ Amen Ra. We pushed the first dance back in the timeline until we could get the alarms shut off and let the party go on!
Despite the challenges created by the weather - the frozen over Potomac with snow falling made for a unbelievably gorgeous backdrop. It was a magical night.
